Corporate Safety Manager (1/20/10)
Location: Work from your home or relocate to Cincinnati, OH
Travel: Greater than 50% as needed
Global Maintenance Services Company has a an open position for a Corporate Safety Manager. The successful candidate will employ a strategy to influence a safety culture within operations at multiple locations throughout North America.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- At least 7 progressive years in Safety, EHS or related field.
Key Functions:
- Proactively develop the vision, influence the culture and direction of the Safety Program.
- Champion root cause analysis
- Enhance processes and systems that incorporate risk assessment and management into work flows
- Develop, deliver and improve safety training as needed
- Ensure t compliance with OSHA. Serve as the company representative on OSHA related matters.
- Conduct inspections, audits and data collection to provide management timely reports of program implementation.

Part-Time Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager (1/5/10)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reports to the EHS Associate Director, Manufacturing (Direct) and Greensboro Plant Manager (Indirect)
- This person in this position will have responsibility for EHS matters at the Greensboro manufacturing facility - including compliance with pertinent EHS regulation and with ConvaTec EHS policy and management system standards. This is a twenty hour a week position.
- Develops and makes recommendations to senior management regarding EHS policy and strategies. Develops programs to ensure EHS compliance and that management systems are in place in areas such as machinery safety, environmental permitting, accident/incident review, and capital projects.
- Promotes and helps ensure safety of ConvaTec employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Liaises with local officials where such is required to accomplish facility and Global EHS objectives and to maintain good working relationships with these organizations and officials.
- Will work with immediate manager at plant (who is the Plant Manager) and with direct-line reporting manager (in Skillman , New Jersey ). Will also work with site leadership team, all other personnel at Greensboro, Project Engineering, Global EHS, Occupational Health, and others.
- Travel is expected to be less than 10% but may be required for EHS meetings or for travel to third party manufacturers.
- Bachelors Degree in Safety, EHS, or technical field required. Masters Degree in these disciplines and related professional certifications preferred.
- Minimum 10 years experience in Safety or EHS discipline in industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Competency in or familiarity with environmental, health, and safety fields required.

Safety Specialist (11/18/09)
Employer: Steritech Brand Protection Services - Charlotte, NC
The Senior Safety Specialist coordinates, implements, develops and manages health and safety policies and procedures for our Food Safety and Pest Prevention Divisions. This includes multiple locations through the US. The position is based in our Charlotte, NC headquarters.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety rules and regulations
- Train employees and managers in work site safety policies
- Assist managers in investigating all accidents and injuries and developing corrective actions
- Oversee administration of worker's compensation programs; partner with insurance carrier to reduce loss time
- Manage fleet safety for company vehicles
- Maintain safety record keeping and medical surveillance monitoring
- Develop and administer company wide Health and Safety programs and training
- Conduct and document division safety audits to ensure compliance with company policies, standards and regulatory requirements
- Track corrective actions until completed
- Review accident data and communicate accident trends to Division and Region management
- Assist operations management in maintaining safety incentive and awareness programs
- Up to 25% overnight travel is required
Position Requirements:
- At least five (5) years experience in health and safety management
Desired Skills and Experience:
- More than ten (10) years experience in health and safety management OR at least five (5) years experience with a 4-year degree in one of the following fields: Occupational Safety, Science OR Engineering
- One or more health and safety certifications are preferred including; Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist and/or Certified Risk Manager
- Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer certificate
- Health and Safety management experience in a multi-location organization
- Experience in administration of worker's compensation and return to work programs
- Experience in one or more of the following fields: Manufacturing, Fleet/Transportation, Insurance/Risk Management and/or Pest Control
- Experience in fleet safety programs

Jr. Site Safety Officer (11/11/09)
NEIE, Inc is the current contractor for USEPA in Region 2 (NY/NJ/PR/USVI) and have a site in Puerto Rico that is in need of a JR Level Site Safety Officer. That person must be familiar with both construction and environmental. They also need to have a 40 Hour HAZWOPR Certificate. The project is the Refinery that recently exploded (Gulf).
The project will last 1-4 months. We are offering a competitive hourly rate, per diem at $82 per day, and hotel room in a very nice hotel(no sharing of rooms with other personnel so this person would have their own room to invite spouse/family/GF/BF/ etc).
Right now the site demands 24 hour a day and 7 day a week attention. That may change in the next month as we scale back from 24 hour opps.
Bi-lingual is a plus....not required.
