Experienced construction safety professional needed to assist this St. Paul, MN based electrical contractor with the implementation of corporate and customer safety requirements on large jobsites. Site Safety & Health Officer (4/26/10)

Safety Engineer (4/26/10)

Top-notch company would like to have a hands-on, pro-active safety professional join their EHS Team at their flagship facility. Responsible for managing contractor and day to day safety aspects of the EH&S Program for the Industrial Division (400+ employee facility) and providing guidance/support for other regional facilities as needed. Environmental Compliance Officer (3/26/10)

The University of Delaware Department of Environmental Health and Safety mission is to maintain a safe and healthful campus environment in concert with the mission of the institution while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations to achieve optimal control or reduction of hazards and exposures which are detrimental to people, property and the environment.

Under limited direction, the Environmental Compliance Officer (ECO) develops and implements environmental health policies, procedures, and systems to monitor, follow up, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and sound safety and health practices. The ECO performs duties associated with Clean Air Act program management and compliance, Air Permitting and Annual Air Emissions Reporting, TIER II EPCRA reporting, waste water discharge program development and compliance, hazardous waste disposal compliance, hazardous materials shipping compliance and other environmental compliance initiatives to assure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and to achieve the optimal control or reduction of the hazards and exposures which are detrimental to people and / or property.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, in a related field with four years of directly responsible job related experience. Working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards such as EPA, NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, AIHA and IBC is preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain the 40 hour HAZWOPER Certification. Certification as a Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred. Advanced knowledge of environmental science and engineering, including environmental chemistry, measurement technologies, pollution controls and equipment, and environmental management. Experience working in an academic research environment preferred. Skill in evaluating building and renovation/remodel construction permit requirements for compliance with the Clean Air Act. Ability to develop, implement and enforce safety programs and protocols. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Knowledge of storage tank safety regulations. Skilled in developing and conducting employee information/orientation sessions. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities: Develops, implements, and monitors comprehensive Clean Air Act compliance programs for all campuses; reviews and evaluates permit requirements on new facilities and renovation/remodel projects; develops and keeps detailed records of Authority-to-Construct Permits, source registrations, and permit modifications. Responds to and investigates occupational and environmental health and safety emergencies and complaints. Typical types of emergencies and complaints include chemical spills, IAQ complaints, personnel injuries, asbestos related issues, odor complaints, biological spills, etc. Develops, implements and maintains the Workplace Chemical List and TIER II reporting programs as required by the State of Delaware Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know regulations. Monitors compliance with the university's Sewer Discharge Permit; inspects existing facilities and makes recommendations concerning floor drain protection from chemical spills; reviews new facilities and renovation/remodel projects for proposed chemical discharges and monitoring access points.

Special Requirements: Must be in good physical condition and be able to pass a medical examination to wear respiratory protection and work around hazardous materials. Frequently requires the use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. With assistance must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver 55 gallon drums weighing up to 600 pounds. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders. Work above and below ground level. Work in cramped or confined spaces. Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license. May require use of a personal vehicle. Jr. Site Safety Officer (11/11/09)

NEIE, Inc is the current contractor for USEPA in Region 2 (NY/NJ/PR/USVI) and have a site in Puerto Rico that is in need of a JR Level Site Safety Officer. That person must be familiar with both construction and environmental. They also need to have a 40 Hour HAZWOPR Certificate. The project is the Refinery that recently exploded (Gulf).

The project will last 1-4 months. We are offering a competitive hourly rate, per diem at $82 per day, and hotel room in a very nice hotel(no sharing of rooms with other personnel so this person would have their own room to invite spouse/family/GF/BF/ etc).

Right now the site demands 24 hour a day and 7 day a week attention. That may change in the next month as we scale back from 24 hour opps.

Bi-lingual is a plus....not required.
